Celebrate The Small Things is a weekly celebration created by VikLit to celebrate the happenings of the week, however small or large. You can learn all about it and sign up for it here.
I love the idea of focusing on the positive and taking time to think about the good things that have happened, so for this week I’m celebrating:
- Finished going through the proofreading edits for my book! Now on to cover design…
- Had great conversations and met several new blog friends from my first Insecure Writer’s Support Group post on Wednesday.
- Actually got caught up with some of my household chores.
- Celebrated National Donut Day today with a Boston Crème donut. Absolutely delicious!
What other celebrations are going on out there?
I would love to have a donut just right about now. 🙂 Great celebrations and congrats on being done with proofing. You are so close! Good luck!

Welcome to the IWSG! I’ve been a member for a while now and find the group extremely supportive and encouraging. It’s nice knowing you’re not alone in your feelings, and it’s good to run across the really positive posts with ideas, too. We’re all in this together!
Good luck with your cover design. How fun to get to that step!

Thanks! Yes, I’m looking forward to the design. I’d never heard of Donut Day until I read something about it a few days ago and looked it up out of curiosity. I can’t believe it has been around since World War II! All those legitimate excuses for eating donuts missed! Well, I won’t miss them anymore!

Some great accomplishments there…love the Donut Day. LOL! For some reason I always want to design my book cover BEFORE I write the book….maybe I should try waiting to the end. Hmmm….

Hi Lori, glad to hear you’ve made it through the proofreading! Boston Cream is my all-time favourite donut, although the version I Iike (from Tim Horton’s) is very different than the one found at Krispy Kreme. (My favourite flavour of ice cream is Boston Cream Pie, which I haven’t seen in years.) What’s your fave donut place?

My favorite donut place is a nearby bakery called Madeline’s that has the best fresh donuts and pastries ever! I had Ben & Jerry’s Boston Cream Pie flavored ice cream once when we toured the local factory here in Vermont and it was delicious!

Yay! We celebrated national doughnut day too! I mean, how could you not? Granted, we haven’t found any really great doughnut places around here so we had to opt for Krispy Kreme, but hey, it works, right?
