Celebrate the Small Things is a weekly celebration created by VikLit to celebrate the happenings of the week, however small or large. You can learn all about it and sign up for it here.
I apologize to my blogging friends for dropping off the Earth and not reading and commenting much this week. I’ve been obsessively working on my book trailer. I hope to be back on schedule next week. This week I’d like to celebrate:
- My son’s progress on his cross-country team. His times have been quite a bit faster than last year, and while he didn’t win any meets, he enjoyed the season and the camaraderie with his teammates.
- I’m really excited with the “rough draft” of my book trailer and my goal is to have it live on YouTube in the next couple of weeks!
- Corn mazes! We had a lot of fun with our traditional trek through the maze. And of course afterward, we had to visit the store there for bakery treats. Yum!
What other celebrations are going on out there?

Hi Lori – have I missed that great castle photo all this time (yikes!) or did you recrntly add it ?!?
I always thought the guys who ran cross country when I was in high school were so … mysterious, strong, different. I mean, that was before the running/jogging craze and thise guys were running miles. For fun!
I still get excited when I catch glimpses of the local high school teams out putting in the miles after school.
Great progress on your book! So exciting to be seeing the closing stretch on such a monumental project.
Nothing too exciting here, except I keep saying “Wow” at yet another gorgeous autumn tree! Weather looks good for a few more days; the sunshine and blue sky always keep my spirits high.

Thanks, Sammy. There are four or five castle photos that rotate through the header. They’re from the trip to England, Scotland, and Wales we took many years ago. I used to love to run, though I was never on a team of any kind. It was just for fun. I wish autumn would stick around a little longer. I’m not looking forward to snow.

Congrats on the book trailer! I am celebrating having my husband home after 10 days away on business travel. Even if he is a bit jet-lagged……..

Thank you! Even jet-lagged, that’s definitely worth celebrating!

I can’t wait to see your book trailer. Did you do it yourself or did you hire someone. I always wondered if a book trailer would help with sales. Let me know.

I’m making it myself. I’m hoping it helps get the word out there.

Yay for your son’s track times and fun with his teammates! Good luck with the trailer. Corn mazes – any mazes at all – are so cool. I bet it was a blast! 🙂

Thanks! Yes, the corn maze was a blast. We really enjoyed it. And I like all kinds of mazes, too. 🙂

Cross country is a great sport, and I know my daughter enjoyed seeing her time improve just in the one year that she ran with the cross country team. Best wishes with your book trailer!

Thank you! It’s amazing how much the runners improve in a short period of time.

Is it weird that I’m scared of corn mazes? I’m terrified that I’ll get stuck in them! I even weird myself out sometimes 🙂

I’m sure you’re not the only who feels that way. 🙂
