Celebrate the Small Things is a weekly celebration created by VikLit and now hosted by Lexa Cain to celebrate the happenings of the week, however small or large. You can learn all about it and sign up for it here.
I can’t believe it’s February already! And I thought December went by fast. This week I’d like to celebrate:
- One of my favorite family traditions: I’ll be watching the Super Bowl with my Dad on Sunday.
- I joined the 2016 2K Indie Book Tour, which starts on Monday!
- Watching movies at home with my kids. My kids are teens, but we still have fun spending time together.
What other celebrations are going on out there?

I love it that you and your kids still watch movies together… most teens couldn’t be bothered. They’re such a wonderful reflection of you (and Mark), Lori. *hugs*

Thank you, Kristy! So nice of you to say. My kids are definitely not the usual teens, and I’m very proud of them for it.

I still watch kids’ movies – does that count?
Looking forward to a good game on Sunday!

Ha, ha, so do I.
I hope it’s a good game and not a blowout.

I’m 26 and my favourite thing to do is watch a film with my mum. I don’t think that will ever change! Enjoy the movies and superbowl 🙂

I hope you and your father have a wonderful time watching the Super Bowl. I’ll be able to watch it here on a German channel. I have my fingers crossed Peyton gets a well-deserved second Super Bowl ring. Yay for movies and fun time with your kids! Have a lovely weekend! 🙂

How nice to spend time with your teens. If they’re anything like mine, they’re hard to pin down. Have fun this weekend!

Mine aren’t as busy as some, for which I’m grateful. Hope your weekend is fun, too!

Lori, thank you for stopping by. DH and I will watch the Super Bowl, too. This has been our family tradition for years. It was especially fun when the children were home, but we continue enjoy it with an empty house. DH and I stream a lot of movies or TV series. It’s a wonderful way to unwind. We just finished with the last season of Mad Men. I hate that it’s come to an end. *sob-sob* Oh well, we have plenty of other good things to watch in our watch list. 😀 Have a good week. We are rooting for the Broncos, how about you?

I haven’t watched a Super Bowl in FOREVER! It’ll be weird to be back in a country that lives and breathes sports after being in Japan, where people really only care about soccer and, at times, baseball.
This week was Setsubun in Japan, which involves throwing all of the “bad luck” out of your house for the new year, and inviting “Lady Luck” in. Kids are terrorized by their fathers in demon masks, and get to throw soy beans at them. 🙂 Then, everyone eats a long sushi roll while facing south south east for luck. It’s a bizarre, but much looked forward to holiday.

I have to say that’s a really unusual holiday. I wonder who started it and why they thought that doing those particular things and facing in that direction would bring good luck?

Time flies. I see it in my son and grab every opportunity to spend time with him. 🙂

It’s amazing how fast it goes by. Kids are grown up before you know it.

Sounds like you had a great weekend with your family Lori. I am celebrating the end to the stomach bug virus…my kids were sick with it and now everyone is back at school. Also, celebrating the possibility of two endings in my resolution of my book. Planning on writing out both in the next two weeks. Happy Wednesday!

Those stomach bugs are miserable. Glad your kids are feeling better. Good luck with your endings!
