Celebrate the Small Things is a weekly celebration created by VikLit and now hosted by Lexa Cain to celebrate the happenings of the week, however small or large. You can learn all about it and sign up for it here.
Well, another week has whizzed right on by. Fun things to celebrate:
- It’s school vacation week! So far, we’ve been indoor rock climbing, go-karting, roller skating, and had a sleepover. We also went to a wonderful barbershoppers concert and sold a lot of Girl Scout cookies. It’s been fun!
- My daughter was a Student of the Month for the second time this year!
- It’s finally starting to warm up around here. It was so nice to get outside and do some yard work.
- Happy Earth Day!
What other celebrations are going on out there?

Hi, Lori, thanks for stopping by my blog and commenting. You mentioned you wanted to look into Fado. To get a good idea of it, you can watch&hear YouTubes of Maria do Ceo, Mariza, and Anna Moura. Also Amalia, although she’s deceased. The other ones are live performances. Hers are usually in the form of a video showing segments from her life, with her voice singing in the background.

Congrats to your daughter! You’re doing a lot on the break. Me, all I’d do is turn the kids loose and hope they wouldn’t come back until supper. Have a good weekend! 🙂

I’m very proud of her! Both my kids are pretty special, not that I’m biased or anything. 🙂

Sounds like a good week. 🙂 All those activities sound so fun! Small things for me this week include the return to a Western diet helping my body get back to normal, and buying a desk for my upcoming grad studies. (It won’t arrive until the 10th [boo!] but I’ve gotten the space all ready, haha.)

It must be quite an adjustment to go from an Eastern to a Western diet. I hope the change goes smoothly. I like buying desks and anything related to writing activities. Have fun setting everything up! 🙂

Our summer vacation is coming. I am and am not looking forward to it. I’m excited to have the kid home for the summer, but then summer will be over and my house will be quieter than ever.

My kids are happy that summer vacation is only a little over a month away. I’m looking forward to it because things are usually a little less hectic, and of course we don’t have to get up as early every morning.
