Celebrate the Small Things!

Celebrate the Small Things is a weekly celebration created by VikLit and now hosted by Lexa Cain to celebrate the happenings of the week, however small or large. You can learn all about it and sign up for it here. CelebrateSmallThings_Badge

My biggest celebration this week is that I was able to set up a book signing at Barnes & Noble for Book 2 on Sunday, July 24th! The funny thing is that it’s the exact same date I did the book signing there last year, just a different day of the week. Crossing my fingers that it will go well!

I’m also celebrating that I’ve begun the Herculean task of cleaning out my basement. It’s full of almost 17 years’ worth of accumulated stuff. I’ve been wanting to do it for the longest time, but sentimental indecision over what to get rid of and what to keep has kept me from dealing with it. I need to do it, though. It may take me a while, but I’ll get through it.

What other celebrations are going on out there?

  1. I’d clean out my basement but I’m afraid it would bother the basement frog. But congrats on the book signing. I’ve never done one of those yet. I’d always planned to have one at Aurora books, a shop owned by the son of my dad’s best friend, but they decided to close the shop before my first book was out. I wasn’t sure how to approach them about it, anyway.

    • Ha, ha, I’ve never had a basement frog. A mouse and a cricket or two and a few spiders (ick!), but no frogs.
Sorry the shop closed before your book came out. I think the best way to approach a bookstore is to just ask. If they say no, no harm done. But if they say yes, whoo hoo!

  2. Congrats on your book signing! I hope it’s awesome! I’m terrible about going through old stuff. Good for you for tackling it. Have a great weekend! 🙂

  3. That’s really exciting for you about the book signing at Barnes and Noble! Hope your basement project goes smoothly. Those things are usually big projects. Happy weekend.

  4. Lori, I feel your pain with tossing stuff out. Over the past three years we’ve made some progress to getting rid of items no longer used or needed, but still there is bunches more. It’s not easy, either. You have lots of good reasons to celebrate. Best of luck with the book signing Thanks for stopping by!
