Celebrate the Small Things!

Celebrate the Small Things is a weekly celebration created by VikLit and now hosted by Lexa Cain to celebrate the happenings of the week, however small or large. You can learn all about it and sign up for it here. CelebrateSmallThings_Badge

It was -4 degrees (F.) this morning, and it’s supposed to be even colder over the weekend. Brrrrrrr! It sure feels like winter now. Celebrations this time around:

  1. We had a great time visiting my parents and watching the Super Bowl last weekend. And the team my Dad and I were rooting for won!
  2. I’ve “met” some interesting writers on the 2016 2K Indie Book Tour. The tour continues for the next two weeks with 8 more writers to meet!
  3. My daughter participated in a Poetry Out Loud competition at school. She had to stand up in front of a lot of people and recite a poem from memory. She didn’t win, but she did a great job! I was impressed and proud of her for doing it and going so far out of her comfort zone since she’s generally very quiet and shy.

What other celebrations are going on out there?

  1. Lori, you gave another reason to celebrate. Although it was cold here, it wasn’t as cold as you guys. I think our lows last night was around 24º. We are expected to have a very chilly weekend, too. I’m not looking forward to that at all. The good news the forecast shows promise of improvements starting Tuesday.

  2. Yay Broncos! I’m so happy Peyton got his 2nd Super Bowl win. He deserves it. I’ve been a big fan since he was with Tony Dungy and the Colts. I’m glad you’re enjoying the Indie Writer hop and congrats to your daughter on memorizing and reciting the poem aloud in public — a big achievement! Stay warm and have a lovely weekend! 🙂

    • I’ve always been a NY Giants fan and became a Peyton fan by way of his brother, Eli, the Giants quarterback. I’m thinking Peyton should retire at this point and go out on top.
Thanks, and hope you’re enjoying your weekend, too!

  3. So excited for your daughter, congratulations to her. I used to hate the oral report stuff. You need a special talent to do well with that. Glad you enjoyed the big game last weekend. We have the cold air too. Bundle up!
