Celebrate the Small Things is a weekly celebration created by VikLit to celebrate the happenings of the week, however small or large. You can learn all about it and sign up for it here.
This week flew right by. I wish time wouldn’t go by quite so quickly. I still have a lot to do before the planned release of my novel in February. Some great things I’d like to celebrate:
- All the wonderful people I’ve met through blogging! So many of you have been so welcoming and friendly and helpful. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate it!
- My new Kindle! I converted my book file, uploaded it, and now I can read it on the Kindle, just like a traditionally published book. Woo hoo!
- The more mundane pleasures of getting my hair cut and actually finding the things I was looking for while shopping and running errands.
What other celebrations are going on out there?

I love number 3. That’s a good feeling. Can’t say the same for myself this week.

It is nice to actually accomplish something when you’re out running around. I hope next week is better for you!

You must be so excited! It’s great you can see it on your Kindle. And finding things while whopping is no small feat. I write lists and it’s a miracle when I can find all the stuff on them.
Thanks for signing up on the new linky for this hop! 🙂

Um – that was supposed to be shopping, not whopping. Whopping is what you do when you can’t find things when shopping. lol

I’m feeling unusually upbeat for January. But then I wasn’t part of the blogging community last January, so I didn’t have all of you to bolster my spirits! And we have been fortunate to have periodic sunny days so I haven’t (yet) been pulled under by the dull gray.
Take care and stay healthy, Lori ☺️

Blogging does open a whole new world. I have enjoyed it thoroughly…well, except when I have brain freeze.

Congrats on the upcoming release of your book!! And the new Kindle. I’m resisting buying one, as I have a Nook, but love the features of the Kindle. Haircuts are fun (or not)….sounds like it was good one 🙂

Thanks! I didn’t look to see how the Nook compared to the Kindle before buying. I probably should have, if only for informational purposes.

I love loading my book onto my kindle to look at like a real book. It’s always my last copy-editing step because I always find mistakes I haven’t seen before.

I didn’t think about using it that way. That’s a good idea.

I love my kindle. And I love reading my books on the kindle. It’s a great way to catch those mistakes I just don’t see when I’m reading the word doc!

That does make sense. Right now, I’m just enjoying seeing my own book on the Kindle.

Hi, Lori. Happy New Year. I’m here late since life has gotten busy. I agree about blogger friends. It’s so nice to meet many new people from around the world! I’m so computer stupid, I wouldn’t know how to load it onto my kindle. Wishing you a successful 2015!!

Book release time is such a nerve wracking, exciting, terrifying, and wonderful time. I’m super excited for you and wishing you both sanity and the ability to breathe. (Yes, it gets tricky at times.) What kind of Kindle do you own? I tried the KindleFire at first, and after burning through two of those, I settled with a Kindle Paperwhite. BEST. Decision. EVER! And that moment when you see your own book on your device… It’s a dream come true, eh? Almost more amazing than holding your print book in your hands.

Thanks! Yes, it is a dream come true. I have the basic Kindle. It doesn’t have any of the bells and whistles, but it does what I need it to do. Now I have to work on the breathing and staying sane parts…
