Celebrate the Small Things is a weekly celebration created by VikLit and now hosted by Lexa Cain to celebrate the happenings of the week, however small or large. You can learn all about it and sign up for it here.
Wow, this month is flying right by! I can’t believe we’re halfway through it already. This week I’m celebrating:
- Another Indie bookstore, The Flying Pig in Shelburne, VT, agreed to carry my book! Whoo, hoo!
- My two flowering crabapple trees have blossomed, and my yard smells heavenly.
- A trip to IHOP to celebrate surviving the A to Z Challenge. Love those apple-cinnamon pancakes!
What other celebrations are going on out there?

Gorgeous trees! And great news about the book store. I’m celebrating the thought of going out for a Chinese meal with friends tomorrow night. Salivating already….

Thank you! I’m not that much into Chinese food, but going out for a meal is always fun! Enjoy!

Oh I love Ihop. Not working there. I used to be a waitress. Not fun. But I just heard a commercial for their French toast. Sounds good.

Their French toast is good, too. I’ve never been a waitress. I always thought it looked like a hard job.

It is. You have to be able to carry (ideally) eight plates. That’s one on each upper arm, one on each wrist, one between your thumb and one finger and another between your pinky and another. Suffice to say, I could not do this

Neither could I.

Thanks, Sammy. I’m a little more relaxed than I was. The last few months have been a bit stressful with my book coming out and promotional blogging and then the Challenge. A few other things that had been plaguing me for a while I think might be straightened out now, which helps a lot. And it’s Spring!! Finally!! 🙂

Thanks very much, Lexa! I have a list of Indie bookstores in the state, and I’m going to work my way down the list. We’ll see how it goes. Enjoy your weekend!

So great that the store will carry your books. I tried B&N but they said, they can order it for people who ask, but can’t stock them…. 😦 Your trees look glorious!!!

Thank you! I’m working on Barnes & Noble. There might be a possibility of a book signing event this summer, but I don’t know yet. I’m keeping my fingers crossed about that, too.

Your trees look gorgeous and congratulations on getting another bookstore to sell your book – it must take guts to go in and ask people for something and know you might get the answer no. I’ve just joined the Celebrate blog hop so it’s nice to me meet you and find out what you do. I’m also doing the A-Z Road Trip so I’ve been looking through a lot of your April posts – brought back a whole load of memories for me of films, TV series and books – really enjoyed it – thank you 🙂 https://lorilmaclaughlin.com/

Thanks, Katie! We’ve been working on painting that fence. It’s a tedious job, but it looks so much better afterward.

Your trees are beautiful. Ours never last, seems right after they bloom we get a storm that blows all the beautiful blossoms off the trees. Errrrrrrrr Road tripping through a-z, and will be part of celebrate starting Friday.

Thank you! Yes, that’s what normally happens to mine, too. This year, though, we had some beautiful weather, and the blossoms lasted longer than usual. Thanks for stopping by on your A to Z road trip and welcome to Celebrate!

Lori, that’s wonderful that another store is carrying your book! Great news. 🙂 One of these days I will need to eat in an IHOP. When I was little my family used to go to a local breakfast restaurant called Obies that made the best pancakes. Fantastic memories of going there. It’s great to have those family traditions!

Thank you, Sue! You definitely should go to IHOP. I love their pancakes… and French toast, and Belgian waffles… 🙂 Obies sounds like a great place, too.

Obies was great – it’s no longer around, but I still have those times to cherish. 🙂 I wish they had more breakfast food places around here. I’m continually on the lookout for them!
