This is it! I’m really excited to be sharing the cover for Book 2: Trouble By Any Other Name with everyone! It’s hard to believe I’m so close to publishing my second book. I want to send out a huge thank you to Carrie Butler of Forward Authority Designs for taking my vision for the cover and making it beautiful. She does excellent work!
And now I present the cover!
And here’s the full cover!
Title: Trouble By Any Other Name
Author: Lori L. MacLaughlin
Publisher: Book and Sword Publishing
Genre: Fantasy Adventure
The Blurb:
Tara Triannon is no stranger to trouble. She’s yet to find an enemy her skill with a sword couldn’t dispatch. But how can she fight one that attacks through her dreams?
With her nightmares worsening, Tara seeks answers but finds only more questions. Then her sister, Laraina, reveals a stunning secret that forces Tara to go to the one place Tara’s sworn never to return to. Her troubles multiply when Jovan Trevillion, the secretive soldier of fortune who stole her heart, is mentally tortured by an ancient Being intent on bending him to its will. And worst of all, the Butcher — the terrifying wolf-like assassin she thought she’d killed — survived their duel and is hunting her again.
Hounded by enemies, Tara sets out on a harrowing quest to discover the true nature of who she is, to come to grips with the new volatility of her magic, and to defeat the evil locked in a centuries-old trap that will stop at nothing to control her magic and escape through her nightmares.

I almost thought it was the same cover. LOL! I like who they match with colors and the same image for the woman was used. Congrats! 🙂

Ha, ha, yes, there are some similar elements. Maybe it will make people look twice and pick it up. Thanks, Chrys!

It’s such a good idea to have covers for series that show they’re connected. Great job.

Thank you, Sara, and the same to you as well! I’ll be adding The Shadowed Spirit to my TBR list. The Thirteenth Tower is on there, too. I haven’t gotten to it yet, but I will. 🙂

Love this cover. What strength and personality all in one picture.
A question: How far in advance of the book release do you do a cover reveal? My cover is done and my book will be ready to publish around mid or late-July. When should I do the cover reveal? I’d love your thoughts on that.

Thank you, Jacqui!
I did cover reveals for both my books within a couple of weeks of publication. This was partly because the covers weren’t ready that far in advance and partly because I wanted to use the reveal as a springboard to generate interest. I was afraid that if I did a cover post a long time before publication, people would have forgotten about it by the time the pub date rolled around. That’s just my take on it. I wanted to use it as a momentum builder. I don’t think there’s a right or wrong time to do it.

That makes sense, rather than constantly saying, “See my newly-published book”.
