Sorry I’m late to the party! This week’s celebrations:

  1. I have a short story for the IWSG Anthology Contest, which is an accomplishment for me, because rarely does anything I write end up short. Ironically, though, the story is actually too short for the 3,000 to 6,000 word limit, so I’m not quite sure what I’m going to do with it.
  2. We went to my daughter’s National Honor Society induction ceremony. I’m so proud of her!
  3. On Saturday, we made our traditional trek through the corn maze! It’s always fun, and the best part is eating bakery treats afterward. Yum!

What other celebrations are going on out there?

I can’t believe October is half over already. Where did it go? Things to celebrate this week:

  1. The interview I did on the local cable TV channel (LCATV) is on the air now. I noticed I talk with my hands quite a bit, not that that’s bad or anything. Here’s the link for anyone who’d like to see it: http://lcatv.org/node/196156. It’s Vermont Treasures #31.
  2. I got all my materials sent to the Independent Publishers of New England, so that my book can be represented and sold at their tables at the Boston Book Festival and the New England Library Association Conference. I won’t be at the events in person, so it will be interesting to see how this works in terms of sales.
  3. We made our traditional fun trek through the corn maze, then went on the hayride down through the “gauntlet of horrors” to the pumpkin patch and my kids picked out pumpkins.
  4. I got some more yard work done. Yay!

I apologize to my blogging friends for dropping off the Earth and not reading and commenting much this week. I’ve been obsessively working on my book trailer. I hope to be back on schedule next week. This week I’d like to celebrate:

  1. My son’s progress on his cross-country team. His times have been quite a bit faster than last year, and while he didn’t win any meets, he enjoyed the season and the camaraderie with his teammates.
  2. I’m really excited with the “rough draft” of my book trailer and my goal is to have it live on YouTube in the next couple of weeks!
  3. Corn mazes! We had a lot of fun with our traditional trek through the maze. And of course afterward, we had to visit the store there for bakery treats. Yum!
