Celebrate the Small Things!

Celebrate the Small Things is a weekly celebration created by VikLit to celebrate the happenings of the week, however small or large. You can learn all about it and sign up for it here. CelebrateSmallThings_Badge

This week was scary with my father-in-law undergoing emergency surgery. It was touch and go for a while, but he seems to be pulling out of it and slowly improving. Now that we can all breathe again, I’d like to celebrate:

  1. Family and friends. They make life go around.
  2. Our good health (knock on wood!) and that stubborn Yankee tenacity.
  3. Life in general. Enjoy it while you have it.

What other celebrations are going on out there?

  1. Oh dear, sorry to hear about your father-in-law. Hope he makes a full recovery.

On small (and related) celebrations, I just spent the day with my 80+ Mum and Dad and remembered again that small things like taking them to the garden centre or to a shop that they can’t get to by themselves can make a big difference to them. I should do it more often.

  2. Lori, sorry to hear about your father-in-law – I hope he feels better soon. It really does make you think about what’s important. I’ll be gathering with my family for Thanksgiving this weekend, so it will be good to have everyone together.

  3. Glad to hear that your father-in-law is on the upswing! Wonderful celebrations…it’s the small things that we take for granted (family, our health) that are the most important…good for you for recognizing them and celebrating them!
