Back On Track

Okay, I think we’re back in business. The file appears to be working now. My copy of the book that I downloaded from Amazon for my Kindle no longer has glitches.

The customer service representative I spoke with at Amazon a little bit ago said that for anyone who purchased the e-book earlier, if their devices are connected to wi-fi, their book file should be automatically updated with the new, non-glitched file. I’m not sure exactly how this is supposed to work. I think she said the cloud file would be updated and could be re-downloaded to whatever device the original file had been on.

I’m hoping this works for everyone with no problems, but if for some reason it doesn’t, you should be able to contact Amazon and get the updated file. Their customer service number is 1-888-280-3321.

Again, I apologize to everyone for the inconvenience. It has been one rollercoaster day.

    • I’m not sure what happened. The original file I submitted looked fine on my computer and was approved by Ingram/Spark. Somewhere in the translation, the formatting disappeared, and all these weird symbols popped up, sprinkled throughout in place of things like apostrophes, dashes, and such. It was a mess. Thankfully, everything appears to be straightened out now.

  1. I know the feeling. When I finally decide to put stuff out there just to find something isn’t right it can really stress me out – I’m a perfectionist and I don’t like to let people down. I think it’s normal to have to resolve these sorts of issues when releasing something though and you’ve handled it really well from the sounds of things. Hopefully it’ll be smooth running from now on. 🙂

    • Thanks! Stressful, it was. I think that’s the understatement of the year. I’ve since heard from a couple of friends who’ve downloaded it in the last day or two, and they said it looked fine, so I’m breathing a little easier now. 🙂
