Celebrate the Small Things is a weekly celebration created by VikLit and now hosted by Lexa Cain to celebrate the happenings of the week, however small or large. You can learn all about it and sign up for it here.
We had an official heat wave this week. It’s been so hot and humid I just wanted to curl up in the refrigerator or find some place air-conditioned. Celebrations for this week:
- Having fun go-karting and indoor rock climbing with my brother and his family, up from PA.
- My Dad and I successfully installed new parts and fixed my clothes dryer!
- We’ve almost got all our back to school stuff ready to go. School starts Wednesday! (I’m the only one in my family celebrating this.) 🙂
- My son finally got his braces. (I’m the only one celebrating this, too.)
What other celebrations are going on out there?

What!? Why isn’t EVERYONE celebrating back to school stuff? The start of school was always the awesomest!….

You’re so funny, Lori! Yes, I think few people are as happy when school starts as moms. Congrats on the repaired dryer! Go-karting and rock climbing sound fun. I bet everyone had a great time doing those. Have a lovely weekend! 🙂

Yay for family fun and getting the dryer fixed! And the kids may not love school starting back up or getting braces, but it must be nice that it’s finally happening.

They won’t mind school so much after they get going with it. We just need to get back into that routine. And my son may not like his braces now, but years down the road, he’ll be glad he had them.

Hi Lori,
Go-carting and spending time with your brother and his family sounds like loads of fun! And braces. I remember when my son came out to the waiting room in the dentist’s office and smiled at me and hubby for the first time after they removed his braces–I thought I was going to have to put on shades his smile was so bright and beautiful! Big congrats! It’s so worth it!

Thank you! It was a lot of fun! That’s great about your son and his braces. I know getting braces isn’t the most fun thing to do, but his teeth will be so much better afterward.

Yes, it was! I like being able to fix things. My dad’s good at it, and he taught me well.

Lol! It’s funny how kids and us parents don’t always see eye-to-eye. Glad that machine’s working again!

That’s so true! I’m really happy it’s working again. I tend to take appliances for granted until they stop working. When that happens, it throws a big monkey wrench into the daily plans.

Yay for getting that dryer fixed, Lori! And your son may not be happy about those braces now, but I’m sure he’ll love them later. 🙂
