We had an official heat wave this week. It’s been so hot and humid I just wanted to curl up in the refrigerator or find some place air-conditioned. Celebrations for this week:

  1. Having fun go-karting and indoor rock climbing with my brother and his family, up from PA.
  2. My Dad and I successfully installed new parts and fixed my clothes dryer!
  3. We’ve almost got all our back to school stuff ready to go. School starts Wednesday! (I’m the only one in my family celebrating this.) 🙂
  4. My son finally got his braces. (I’m the only one celebrating this, too.)

What other celebrations are going on out there?

My kids have both been sick with colds this week. It never fails. The minute they get back into the germ factory — I mean, school — wham! I’m going to look on the bright side here and be glad they only have colds and not something worse.

Things I’d like to celebrate —

  1. My daughter, the freshman, loves high school and is doing great. Yay!
  2. Nice weather. It still feels like summer, even though we’ve crossed into September.
  3. Grandparents Day this Sunday, September 7th! Let them know how special they are!

This week has been pretty quiet, the lull before the back-to-school flurry coming up. Celebrations this time around —

  1. Went to a classic car show this past weekend and enjoyed seeing all the antique autos and muscle cars.
  2. Finally had time to go through my kids’ closets and pull out everything that doesn’t fit anymore. We ended up with two garbage bags full of clothes to donate to Goodwill.
  3. Now we get to go school clothes shopping this weekend.
