I’ve been on pins and needles this week, waiting for the designer I’m working with to finish up the book cover. I had originally hoped to release the book in about ten days, but at this point, that might be pushing it.

In the meantime, I’ve been working on setting up a blog tour for when my book finally does come out. I’m a little nervous about it, but I think it’s going to be fun! Some things I’d like to celebrate:

  1. Watching the old Nancy Drew/Hardy Boys TV series from the ’80s with my kids. We got the series on DVD for Christmas and just started watching the episodes. My kids love the books and the shows as much as I did at their age. (Okay, I admit I still like them, too.) 🙂
  2. Making progress with my blog tour plans.
  3. Going to IHOP with a friend for no other reason than to celebrate the fact that it was Tuesday. (I know that sounds silly, but it sure tasted good!)

This has been a completely frustrating week. I had planned to put the finishing touches on my book file and have it all ready to upload, but every time I thought I had everything all set, I’d find something else I had to change or add or fix or redo. I reached the end of the week, and I feel like I’m in the same spot where I was at the beginning of the week.

Ah, well. I will chalk it up as a learning experience and move on. Some things to celebrate:

  1. My daughter got an A on her midterm exam in math, her most difficult subject! I’m so impressed and proud of her!
  2. We have a three-day weekend coming up!
  3. We’ve actually had sunshine the past couple of days. Even though it’s really cold out, it’s nice to see.

This week flew right by. I wish time wouldn’t go by quite so quickly. I still have a lot to do before the planned release of my novel in February. Some great things I’d like to celebrate:

  1. All the wonderful people I’ve met through blogging! So many of you have been so welcoming and friendly and helpful. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate it!
  2. My new Kindle! I converted my book file, uploaded it, and now I can read it on the Kindle, just like a traditionally published book. Woo hoo!
  3. The more mundane pleasures of getting my hair cut and actually finding the things I was looking for while shopping and running errands.

Happy New Year to everyone! It was nice to take a break from social media, but now it’s time to get back into it. I would like to celebrate:

  1. A wonderful Christmas holiday with my family.
  2. A fun New Year’s Eve spent with very good friends!
  3. The exciting possibilities of 2015, including the release of my novel, hopefully in February!

I know, it’s Saturday, not Friday, but I didn’t want the week to go by without celebrating a few things:

  1. I got my Christmas packages all mailed out in time to reach their destinations before the big day (which is why I’m late with this post).
  2. Baking! I love the way the house smells after baking Christmas goodies!
  3. Christmas Vacation! My kids are celebrating this big time.

It’s been a snowy week up here in Vermont, thanks to a coastal storm that doesn’t seem to want to go away. I guess the good thing about it is that we should now have a white Christmas! This week I’d like to celebrate:

  1. Snow days! My kids enjoyed their day off from school because of the storm, and we have two odd-looking snowmen on our lawn to show for it.
  2. I received paper samples in the mail from Ingram/Spark who will be handling the printing and distribution of my book. Very exciting!
  3. I’m just about done with my Christmas shopping! Yay!

I missed last week because I was out of town enjoying a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday with family. This week I’m celebrating:

  1. The fun visit with my brother and his family, up from PA, last weekend. Family time is always worth celebrating!
  2. A birthday party for my daughter this weekend! She’ll be turning 15. Wow, 15. How did that happen??
  3. Sneaking in another trip to IHOP while Christmas shopping with a friend. Yum! 🙂

I actually had some time to wind down this week, which was really nice for a change. I’m celebrating:

  1. The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug extended edition! It arrived in the mail a couple of weeks ago and I finally had a chance to watch it.
  2. The cover design for my upcoming fantasy novel is almost done!
  3. Thanksgiving vacation from school! My brother and his family are coming up again from PA, so we’ll be spending a few days with them.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

Celebrate the Small Things: More Video!

I know Friday is long gone, but this week I would like to celebrate more video! I made another trailer for my fantasy novel, Lady, Thy Name Is Trouble. This one is more of a character study, rather than a preview of what the story is about, like my last trailer which you can see by clicking here.

I thought this would be a more interesting way of introducing my main character, Tara Triannon. Any and all feedback/comments are appreciated. Thanks!

I don’t know where this week went. It seems like a minute ago it was Monday. After going back and looking at my calendar to see what it was that I did this week, I’m celebrating:

  1. I actually remembered to set the clocks back an hour last weekend. I know that sounds silly, but my forgetting to change the clocks has become a running joke in my family.
  2. I had a parent/teacher conference for my son and he’s doing great! My daughter is getting straight As, too, even in math. I’m so psyched and really proud of them!
  3. I made progress winterizing my house.
